Conquer the Hill 2024
Thursday June 13, 2024 from 5:30-6:30pm This is free event, open to all. Conquer the Hill with Matt & Jill is back by popular demand! Join your RA community for an hour of fun, fitness, and friendly competition to Conquer the Hill. This challenge can be anything you make it – an hour of climbing the hill, a bit of climbing and then some chatting and cheering! The possibilities are endless and so is the fun! New this year – Take it up a notch with our RuckFIT Challenge. Bring a backpack, fill it with weight (how much or little is up to you) and carry it up the hill. Look for additional RuckFIT Challenges along the way! Our LifeFIT trainers will lead the hour and offer up a variety of optional challenges. We will end on the RA Sundeck for draw prizes, refreshments, and a chance to commiserate and celebrate with your fellow hill conquerors. DETAILS
Join your RA community for an hour of fun and fitness on the last Wednesday of each month. Each session will hold something different but we guarantee you will get your ‘sweat on’ and have some fun while you do it. These workouts are free and open to anyone (members and non-members alike). Heart Wise Exercise works with fitness providers in your community to develop and identify programs and classes that are appropriate for people who want to stay healthy or who may be living with a chronic health condition. GroupFIT & SpinFIT Class Descriptions
AquaFIT - Our pool season is short but sweet. On those summer hot days, dive into an AquaFIT class in the RA’s outdoor pool. No experience required and we offer exercises in both the shallow end and the deep end of the pool so you don’t need to be an Olympic swimmer to join in. Leave our aqua playground feeling cool and energised! Did you know that AquaFIT is included in your LifeFIT/GroupFIT membership? Cardio/Strength/Stretch - Reap the benefits of a class that does it all. Cardio may be choreographed, drills, intervals (take a chance) combined with strength work for major muscle groups and a well deserved stretch at the end of class. Circuit Training - "go hard" as an individual (at your personal station) and challenge both strength and cardio vascular performance. INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED level. CoreFIT: This class will help you strengthen your abdominals, back, shoulders and hips, as well as improve posture, flexibility and balance. By using effective training tools, you will strengthen and increase flexibility for your primary core muscles. FusionFIT - This is a relaxing mind and body class takes from a few disciplines (Yoga, Pilates). It is designed to improve posture, muscular strength and flexibility as well as overall wellbeing. No experience necessary. Come and feel welcomed by the music and the movement. MuscleFIT- A full body workout to build strength and lean muscle! Pump, pump, pump it up. SpinFIT-: Enjoy our indoor cycling program with the best combination of motivation and music to keep you fit. Taiji - Traditional Wu Style Taiji class that is fantastic for your brain and body. Participants will be guided through this class with great care to improving muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, as well as exercising the memory for brain health. Novice Taiji - Wednesdays are the place to start if you are just exploring this type of movement. Once you have the basics under your belt, dig a little deeper in either the Monday or Friday classes Workout of the Day - Join our trainer every Saturday for our Workout of the Day. The workout will be in the LifeFIT Centre and will change every month. Each workout will be posted in the LifeFIT Centre so once you have figured it out, you can do it again on your own. No matter which you choose, a wellness program is a great way to stretch and strengthen your body, focus your mind, and relax your spirit.
